Even a slow news week produces plenty of interesting and informative stories. Put another way “slow news” doesn’t mean “no news,” and this week, Paul kicks things off with a novel plan being weighed by the county to greatly reduce vehicle replacement cost through fleet rentals, rather than via traditional purchasing.
Meanwhile, Will is running all the bases on the amazing Machias Little League 12U team’s success in the tournaments. Nancy is keeping her finger firmly on the pulse — and her readers informed — on the upcoming, rescheduled special town meeting in Jonesport, where voters will decide on an ordinance change to clear the way for the Kingfish project. And Paul previews the upcoming Milbridge Days celebration.
You’ll want to check Sunrise Briefs on page 2, to learn about a planned one-day closure of the Route 1 D**e in Machias. Nancy reports on the revised Jonesport Elementary School budget. Will takes a look at how Machias welcomed Little League teams from around the state last weekend.
Paul reviews the latest Kitchen Concert at Bad Little Falls Park, and writes about ingoing rehearsals for this year’s Maine Wild Blueberry Festival musical
