This is a husband appreciation post.
10 years ago we were a couple of recent college graduates who stood in Jackson Square and captured some of the early moments of our engagement.
I remember thinking multiple times throughout our shoot with “I’m going to marry this man. He’s going to be my huuuuusband.” And it filled me with glee, to think that the two of us would get to do life together for the rest of our lives and that maybe one day we’d start a family.
Fast forward to last weekend we stood steps away from where we took our initial pics with arms full and hands held by our children.
There has been such a dramatic storyline over the past decade but one thing that hasn’t shifted is the way just looking at my husband fills me with glee while simultaneously grounding me.
Through career pivots and multi city moves, through birthdays and miscarriages, he has continued to be steady in a world that feels very uncertain.
I have such gratitude for the gift of getting to grow with him…
to have and to hold
to love and to cherish
for richer, for poorer
in sickness and in health
As long as we both shall live.
Through it all he still remains my person and I love him. 💙
