Actress Amber Tamblyn called the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk a “public execution” and mocked that his young daughter witnessed the killing. In a post on BlueSky, she wrote “Wish granted” while sharing a 2024 Newsweek article where Kirk had discussed the idea of children witnessing public executions as a deterrent to crime.

The Newsweek piece had covered a panel discussion on The Charlie Kirk Show, where Kirk and his co-hosts debated whether public executions of convicted murderers could reduce crime and whether children should ever be present. Tamblyn’s comment appeared to endorse the assassin’s act as punishment for Kirk’s views, drawing outrage over her words.
