Miami has officially crowned Coconut Grove as the city’s “Brunch Capital,” celebrating its vibrant culinary scene, diverse dining options, and unbeatable weekend vibe. Home to 20+ beloved restaurants serving everything from classic eggs benedict to globally inspired fare, the Grove has become Miami’s ultimate brunch destination for locals and visitors. To mark this honor, Downtown Coconut Grove will host the first-ever Grove Brunch Club on September 21 from 11 a.m.–3 p.m., where select restaurants will offer signature specials at unbeatable prices—an invitation to taste, toast, and experience the heart of Miami’s brunch culture. Yesterday, Graspa Group and Ariete Hospitality Group celebrated the VIP grand opening of Da Angelino Cucina Italiana – the newest modern Italian dining destination in Coconut Grove’s CocoWalk. This first-of-its-kind partnership marks a milestone: Graspa Group’s long-awaited debut in Coconut Grove and Ariete Hospitality Group’s first Italian restaurant.

Guests sipped signature cocktails and enjoyed a three-course, sit-down dinner showcasing Da Angelino’s signature Italian menu. The night included a surprise “flash mob” performance by Florida Grand Opera, with performers posing as hostesses, servers and guests before breaking into a stunning operatic performance — perfectly setting the tone for a true celebration of Italian culture.

An official ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the occasion, led by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, Michele Mistò and Angelin Kometa — the Florence-born hospitality veteran and namesake of the restaurant who will oversee front-of-house daily — along with Graspa Group Founder Graziano Sbroggio and Ariete Hospitality CEO Andrew Falsetto.

Da Angelino is officially open to the public as of today, Thursday, September 4. The restaurant will be open from Monday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., Fridays from 4 to 11 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 11 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 10 p.m.

Da Angelino is Now Open at CocoWalk!

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez joined the celebration to officially cut the ribbon and welcome the newest Italian culinary gem in Coconut Grove. “We will take care of you as a family and as a city,” he said, welcoming a new local business into the heart of the community.

The Consul General of Italy Michele Mistò shared a heartfelt message of pride, service, and commitment to supporting the Italian community and new businesses across Florida and the Consular district.

This marks a groundbreaking partnership between two local powerhouses—Graspa Group and Ariete Hospitality Group—coming together for the first time to bring a unique Italian dining experience to South Florida.

Gioia Hospitality Group, the team behind Miami’s newest culinary hotspot Daniel’s Miami – as well as the MICHELIN Guide-recommended Daniel’s, A Florida Steakhouse in Fort Lauderdale – is unveiling its newest concept coming soon to Miami’s Coconut Grove: La Sponda, a refined Italian dining experience set to debut within CMC Group’s Vita at Grove Isle luxury condominium, which is nearing completion on the private island of Grove Isle.

Slated to open in 2026, La Sponda will bring the signature sophistication and coastal Italian flavors Gioia Hospitality is known for to one of Miami’s most private, scenic enclaves. With interiors by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, known for Annabel’s and Soho Beach House, the waterfront restaurant will offer sweeping Biscayne Bay views and an ambiance that blends timeless elegance with island luxury.
