As part of a package of renter protections passed in 2023, the City of Los Angeles adopted a citywide Just Cause Ordinance (JCO) to provide eviction protections for tenants in *all* residential units – not just those covered by the city’s Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO). This means, a landlord cannot evict a tenant without a legally valid reason, or “just cause,” and the Ordinance outlines requirements for relocation assistance in no-fault evictions.

We know the landscape is constantly changing and can be confusing, which is why our office has partnered with the Los Angeles Housing Department’s () Compliance Division to provide Just Cause Ordinance in-person support and assistance for rental-property owners this Thursday, June 26 from 1-4PM. Whether you have questions or need guidance on completing forms, LAHD can help! LAHD staff will be available to help with other annual (RSO/SCEP) billing questions and additional housing support for tenants!

Be sure to sign up for an appointment at the link below! Support will be available in English and in Spanish.

Big news! Beginning in spring 2026, The Huntington’s historic Library building will undergo an extensive renovation to revitalize the space for both library and art collections.

Plans include redesigned exhibition areas, a new gallery focused on the history of science, and an 8,000-square-foot expansion of conservation studio capacity.

During the renovation, the Library’s reading rooms will remain open to researchers, and highlights from the collections will be featured in a rotating exhibition series in the Art Museum.
