To beat the heat, the Town of Oyster Bay has extended pool hours and is opening pools ahead of schedule! Here's the details from Supervisor Saladino:

Starting TOMORROW (Tuesday, June 24), select Town of Oyster Bay Pools are opening EARLY! 🎉

💦 Opening Early for the Season:
• Bethpage Community Park
• Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Park
• Tappen Pool at Tappen Beach (Glenwood Landing)

📅 Opening Saturday, June 28 (as scheduled):
• Marjorie Post Community Park Pool
• Syosset-Woodbury Community Park Pool

🕒 Daily Hours:
Open 11AM – 7PM, weather permitting

🌅 Extended Hours (Open Until 8PM):
• Monday: Syosset-Woodbury
• Tuesday: Plainview-Old Bethpage
• Wednesday: Bethpage
• Thursday: Marjorie Post
• Friday: ALL pools, including Tappen!

To help in this dangerous heat, there are cooling centers open, and extended pool hours, in the Town of Hempstead.

☀️ HEAT WAVE ALERT ☀️

Supervisor Don Clavin, Town Clerk Kate Murray, and Legislator John Ferretti held a press conference today at Veterans Memorial Park Pool as dangerously high temps continue to affect our area.

🔥 With temps expected to feel like triple digits, we’re extending beach hours to 7 PM and pool hours to 8 PM through Wednesday (weather permitting).

❄️ Cooling centers will also be open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM in Baldwin, Valley Stream, Salisbury, and Uniondale/Hempstead. Full list at http://hempsteadny.gov.

💧 Stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activity from 10 AM–4 PM, and check in on neighbors. Let’s beat the heat together!
