The Sharp End Podcast The Sharp End Podcast is a safe, judgment free space to share near misses and accidents. Let's learn!

We all need to shift our way of thinking about accidents and intentionally create a culture that allows people to share their stories, judgment, shame, and guilt-free. It’s easy to be an armchair expert, but it’s not that easy to listen and learn. By doing that, we can all grow into a much stronger outdoor community by learning from each other and supporting one another along the way.

20,310 feet. That’s how tall Denali is in Alaska. It’s one of the famed Seven Summits and presents a tremendous mountaineering challenge. Denali is cold, high, and physically demanding, but it is also a stunning mountain within a range of beautiful peaks. It’s one of those mountains that you look up and say, “I have to climb that!”

The American Alpine Institute has been running programs on Denali since 1980. They have an exceptional reputation for both summit success and mountain safety. But if Denali is not for you, AAI also offers a 10-day Alaska Range program that is climbing- and ski-oriented. Learn more about AAI’s Alaska Expeditions at alpineinstitute.com

If you’ve been listening to The Sharp End Podcast for a while now, you know that I love my Rocky Talkie Mountain Radios. These radios are lightweight, durable, and they work in extreme temps with impressive battery life. I use my radios constantly and add them to my main backcountry and adventure kit. They have traveled with me on road trips, while climbing, hiking, backcountry skiing, scouting, and wild ice skating, to name a few.

These radios are the perfect gift for yourself or your loved ones, so you can rest easy knowing poor communication will not be the reason for an outdoor accident.

Check out RockyTalkie.com to learn more about their radios and accessories. And don’t forget that listeners get 10% off at rockytalkie.com/sharpend.

Please know I am working on it.
