A right delayed is a right denied. Due to a computer problem affecting all state computers, the VA background check system has been down since yesterday. This effectively stops all gun sales in Virginia!

BREAKING! VCDL and GOA just had a MAJOR VICTORY in the lawsuit they backed against the City of Wi******er!

A judge has issued a temporary injunction against the City of Wi******er enforcing their gun ban in City Parks and at permitted, or should have been permitted, events!

Effective immediately, guns are no longer banned at either type of location in the City of Wi******er.

This ruling does not change the gun ban in City owned buildings or, for now, at community and recreation centers.

There was another major part of today’s ruling: that the U.S. Supreme Court’s Bruen decision applies to Article 1, Section 13 of Virginia’s Constitution. Thus, determining if a gun law is constitutional under the Virginia Constitution requires showing that either the text, history, or traditions of that law were in place at the time of the Founding.

The Judge’s opinion is 42 pages long and very detailed. It will take a few days to process all of it, so we will probably have some more updates in the near future.

VCDL’s and its attorneys are deciding our next steps.
