In the past, the Fashionably Austin team was at New York Fashion Week during this time, covering the trends to bring back to Austin, Texas.

We have fond memories of watching fabulous runway shows and meeting fashionable celebrities like Tommy Hilfiger, Denise Richards, Alyssa Milano, Sadie Robertson, Nina Garcia, Diane Von Furstenberg, Kelly Osbourne, Melissa Rivers, and stars of "Project Runway" (to name a few).

We look forward to reporting from local events soon ... and we wonder ... on this / ... should we go back to NYFW?

Congrats to the 13th Annual Trash Makeover Challenge winner Megan Pinto!!

Her winning unconventional two-piece design look was made out of carbonated water bottles, styrofoam egg cartons and to go containers, polyethethylene sheeting, foil chip and candy bags. The earrings were made out of crushed windshield glass and bread clips.

The event was sponsored by the Texas Campaign for the Environment. In all, the event racked up more than $100,000 from the silent auction and personal donations all to help environmental initiatives in Texas.

This is Megan's 5th Trash Makeover Challenge Win. In all, 29 looks competed for the top $3,000 prize.
