Tony Beck, co-founder of Beck & Bulow, stumbled into the bison business in 2018, sparking what has since grown into a $10 million company. Rooted in both practicality and spirituality, Beck ties his passion for bison to years of participating in ceremonies in South Dakota, believing the animal embodies both health and cultural meaning. Beck blends hard work, community, and “rustic elegance” into a vision far beyond just selling meat. Read the full interview in our recent issue- 16.

And as a special treat Beck & Bulow will be at the Canyon Road Summer Walk this Wednesday with their raw bar: Bison Tartar, Tuna Tartar, and Wagyu Carpaccio, and caviar! See you Sept 3rd 5-8pm.

Talking to a poet is never just a conversation—it’s an experience that lingers, reshaping how you see the world. Our recent interview with Lauren Camp, New Mexico’s Poet Laureate, was exactly that.
We spoke to Lauren about what it really means to hold this role, her deep connection to jazz and the way its improvisational rhythms mirror poetry, her month-long residency at the Grand Canyon spent contemplating dark skies, her mission to bring poetry to corners of the state where many rarely engage with a poem, and so much more.
Read this insightful beautiful interview in our recent issue -16.

From Las Cruces and a member of the Piro-Manso-Tiwa tribe, Diego Medina blends deep research, symbolism, and mysticism in his art. “No self-respecting mystic will just call themselves a mystic,” he says — yet his paintings feel like journeys brought back from beyond, using New Mexico landscapes as portals and weaving together Indigenous, Christian, and Sephardi mystical traditions.

Diego’s work is featured in SITE Santa Fe’s ‘Once Within a Time’, and his next show opens tomorrow (Aug. 15) at Smoke the Moon.

Get Issue 16 for the full interview. Trust us — it’s worth the read.

The Traditional Spanish Market returns to the Santa Fe Plaza this weekend! It reminded us of our conversation we had with Nicholas Herrera — a modern-day santero with roots tracing back to 1598 New Mexico. While he draws from traditional Spanish devotional art, Nicholas brings a bold, boundary-pushing spirit to his work, reimagining age-old themes in ways that are unmistakably his own.
Go check his work out at and go see amazing traditional Spanish artists in the plaza today and tomorrow!

Santa Fe has a wizard — and his name is Godfrey Reggio.
We sat down with the legendary pioneer of experimental cinema, whose latest film ‘Once Within a Time’ is now showing at .
We talked about ‘Koyaanisqatsi’, his groundbreaking film, as well as AI, the environment, Georgia O’Keeffe, and his formative years with the Christian Brothers.

“Forget it,” Reggio recalls his father saying. “We don’t have no money. I’ll get him to be a Brother. I’ll send him off.”
“It was like going from La Dolce Vita New Orleans to the Middle Ages. Everything was done by bells.”

Oh, how we loved talking to this brilliant mind.

Sofia Salazar calls herself a narrative poet.
“My poetry is very story-like, and I usually explore themes of generational trauma. I grew up in northern New Mexico, where there’s a blend of many cultures.”

We spoke with Sofia about place, death, emotion, belonging—and so many other themes that only a poet’s mind can make you truly ponder.
