𝑪𝑯𝑨𝑵𝑮𝑬𝑴𝑨𝑲𝑬𝑹 ✨🌍🏡 Empowered entrepreneur, world traveler and mom of two, Amy Appleton Dreyer has reimagined a ranch into a casually modern-chic retreat—infused with the cultural and architectural spirit of her favorite escapes to Mexico, Portugal and Morocco. With help from Brasstacks Design + Build, Hufft, Centric and House of Palm she brought her inspired vision of soothing neutrals, artisan furnishings and unfettered luxury to life.

Whether in the sumptuous yet down-to-earth kitchen anchored by marble and concrete counters and a range, the airy family room opening seamlessly to a verdant backyard, or the earthy-modern, Lisbon hotel-inspired primary suite, every space and detail reflects Amy’s desire to feel as though she’s on a distant-world vacation each day. Outside, smooth hand stucco, a minimal white-gravel garden and an adobe-style shed—complete with an earthenware-tile outdoor shower—carry her globally inspired aesthetic into a serene, Colonial Mexican-style sanctuary.

𝑴𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑰𝒏𝒇𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 🏛️📚🎨 Bold updates revive a storied treasure in Kansas City’s coveted . Designers Mark Sudermann and Megan Pittman collaborated with the homeowners to create a home where historical integrity and modern living vibrantly intertwine.

Graceful juxtapositions define Sudermann’s work: the living/game room contrasts rich wood paneling with contemporary art and vivid textiles; the light-filled sunroom evokes a European patio with natural textures and whimsical details around its original fireplace; and the library balances original goldenrod trim and a bay ceiling with grasscloth for a look both grand and comfortable.

Pittman extended that harmony into the dining room and upstairs family room with modern touches that honor the home’s framework. The saturated blue dining space pairs a custom settee with restored sconces and chandelier to blend adaptability with antique character. In contrast, the family room offers a retreat with gold velvet swivel chairs, rich colors and soft textiles set against original wood trim.
