💛 Hey BEEhive, our brave BBFKiddo AJ needs your love, strength, and prayers now more than ever. 🐝

AJ is currently in the hospital after a series of concerning symptoms—he’s on higher levels of oxygen due to fluid around his lungs, and recent X-rays confirmed pulmonary edema. Sadly, an echocardiogram has now revealed right-sided heart failure. To help remove the fluid, AJ must undergo IV Lasix twice a day to increase his urine output and ease the pressure on his lungs.

This has been an incredibly difficult and emotional time for AJ and his family, but they continue to show strength. They’re asking for your prayers for AJ’s healing as he fights through this next stretch of his journey.

It's time to celebrate one of the best sweet treats in the world - chocolate! That's right, it's World Chocolate Day!

Chocolate comes from the seeds of the tropical cacao tree, which has been cultivated for at least three millennia! Cacao grows in Mexico, Central America, and Northern South America. The earliest known documentation of using cacao seeds is from around 1100 BC!

Today is Juneteenth! Celebrate our country's second independence day today.

On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas. The army announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state were free by executive decree. While that date did not actually mark the unequivocal end of slavery, even in Texas, it was a day of great hope and joy. It became a day celebrated to commemorate the ending of slavery in the following years.

Did you know? Although it has long been celebrated in the African American community, this monumental day only became a federal holiday in 2021, and is still not common knowledge to many Americans!
