The Best Selling Comic Books in the US +++
A special Thank you for paying for this ad!!! this week one of our biggest buyers is sponsoring this weeks sales chart, check them out https://www.ebay.com/str/comicmanshipper?_sop=15...

A real top 40 for (7/5/26 (ending date)
And keep in mind, like a huge store explained to me, the book at #40 selling for the week, would be in the TOP 10 15/20 yrs ago)
1- Batman #11 (monster as usual)
2- Absolute Martian Manhunter #12 (I am guessing a regular title announced any day)
3- Absolute Green Lantern #16
4- Deadman #2 (huge , DC never misses)
5- Supergirl Survive #2 (Elseworlds books sell)
6- Poison Ivy #46 (4 yrs in and this sells more every month)
7- JSA #21 (DC having sustained success not re-launching every 6 mos. Pay attention Disney)
8- DC x Sonic The Hedgehog The Metal Legion #3 (this is another hit for DC, smart idea to not let the sequel series wait too long)
9- Adventures Of Superman Book Of El #10 (PKJ is more DC then Disney )
10- Avengers/JLA #2 (Of 4) Facsimile Edition (amazing that people are enjoying this for 1st time, highest Marvel book this week and co-published with DC)
11- Batgirl #21 (if this was 2005, these numbers would be the #1 book for the week)
12- Batman/Green Arrow/The Question Arcadia #4 (really solid sales for a Ltd Series)
13- 100 Bullets The Us Of Anger #1 (Vertigo coming back was a smart for DC, and this is probably getting a 2nd print any day, stores ran short)
14- Amazing Spider-Man #32 (Marvel's few bright lights)
15- Marvel/DC Spider-Man/Superman #1 (3rd print has this back in the Top 40)
16- Absolute Superman #20 (wk 2)
17- Absolute Wonder Woman #21 (wk 2)
18- Justice League Unlimited #20 (wk 2)
19- Summer Of Supergirl Special #1 (wk 2, she can sell books, but the INCELS had an impact on the film ,sadly)
20- Wonder Woman #34 (wk 2)
21- Detective Comics #1110 (wk 2)
22- Bizarro Year None #2 (wk 2, Kevin Smith can sell books, though not many movie tickets)
23- Superman #39 (wk 2)
24- Superman Father Of Tomorrow #2 (wk 2)
25- Zatanna #3 (wk 2)
26- Universal Monsters Blood Of The Wolf Man #1 (highest Image title for the week)
27- Punisher #6 (for Marvel these are solid numbers)
28- Fantastic Four #13 (same as above)
29- Iron Man #7 (more same as above, but when you are being outsold by a Zatanna title in their 2nd week, maybe Marvel needs to re-evaluate, but if we are being honest they have just kind of remained flat with their numbers (maybe down 10-20%) while DC/Image have brought in so many new or returning readers)
30- Spawn #377
31- Swamp Thing 1989 #3 (wk 2)
32- Swamp Thing 1989 #1 (reprint has this charting again, DC has to be thrilled with these numbers)
33- Ghost Machine The Official Guidebook #4 ( Geoff and Image have to be surprised with the numbers for this type of title)
34- Green Lantern #36 (wk 2)
35- Flash #34 (wk 2)
36- Harley Quinn #63 (wk 2, I know people can not make it to the shop every week, that 60 issues in that Harley still sells so well, I mean in her 2nd week there are maybe 4 or 5 Marvel titles in their 1st week selling better)
37- Peril Of The Brutal Dark An Ezra Cain Mystery #5 (wk 2, that Vertigo is doing numbers like this , I think we have to go back to Sandman/Preacher era....though it helps that the titles are 4 to 5 star reads)
38- Justice League Dream Girls A DC Pride Event #3 (3rd week)
39- Justice League Dream Girls A DC Pride Event #4 (wk 2)
40- Gotham Academy First Year #5 (wk 2)
A light Image week, but there were definitely 4 titles or more titles Retailers went a little light on and were sold out by Friday)
Also retailers told me there were 4 or so Marvel titles that they went big on, and they completely had no customer interest)

Zatanna and Constantine, this time in full color!

I use fine art quality watercolors on my commissions because I want them to be lightfast, but I have to say, sometimes the stock the publishers use absolutely HATES the painting medium. I had a lot of trouble with the paints on this one, and ended up using gouache a bit as well. The Kirby dots are in gold marker.

I like the painterly quality of the final result, but it took quite a bit longer to get there than it should have!

There's an old saying that the bad craftsman blames his tools, but that person has never tried to use a water based medium on a ground that probably has an oil binder.

Not sure what the issue is with the stock, but you never know what you're going to get with these covers. I just did a cover for a Marvel comic, and the stock was just fine.

This was not scanned, but shot from a photo, hence the grainy quality.
