We are proud to announce that C. Andrew Jacobs II, Deputy Director of Hoke County Emergency Services, has been elected as the North Carolina State Representative for IAEM-USA Region 4.

This is an incredible recognition of his leadership, dedication, and commitment to advancing emergency management — not only here in Hoke County, but across the entire region. Andrew will serve alongside a talented team of elected representatives from Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee, helping to shape the future of emergency management in Region 4.

Student U is partnering with leaders across The North Carolina Community Schools Coalition to expand and implement Full Service Community Schools in North Carolina over 5 years. The CSC is responsible for the implementation of the community schools model at the school site. This position is based in Hoke County Schools, with Student U serving as the employer.

County Parents As Teachers is gearing up for their First Annual PlayDaze and they need YOUR help to make it a fun-filled day for families! 💛

They’re looking for at least 8 more volunteers and 10 more vendors to bring this event to life.

✨ Volunteer Roles Needed:
✔️ Set-up & Clean-up
✔️ Supervising and running activities
✔️ First Aid & Water Stations
✔️ Volunteer floaters (to give breaks)
✔️ Special talents — storytelling, music, or any fun way to engage children!

📅 Date: Friday, October 3, 2025
📍 Location: McLaughlin Park, Raeford, NC
⏰ Time: 10 AM – 2 PM

🎉We are pleased to announce an exciting leadership update at Hoke Area Transit Service!🎉

After serving as Interim Director for the past year, 𝙏𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙖 𝙒𝙞𝙡𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 has officially been promoted to Director of Hoke Area Transit Service. Her leadership during the interim period has been instrumental in maintaining and improving our transit operations, and we look forward to the continued growth and success of the agency under her direction.

Additionally, congratulations to 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙖 𝙎𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙝, who is the new Office Supervisor. We are excited to see her bring her experience and dedication to this important role.💫
