Egents connects places to people through immersive virtual experiences. Since 2020, we have helped communities, campuses, and care environments to do exactly that. But in November 2025, we encountered something different. Something urgent.
When Trinity Christian College announced its closure after 66 years, it wasn't just an institutional wind-down. It was the impending fracture of a multi-generational community. It was the end of a place that shaped thousands of lives and the loss of the central anchor keeping that community connected. For us, this hit home. Ashley co-founder of Egents, is an alumna of Trinity's Semester in Spain program. Both Ashley and Shalom know the pain of losing places that matter. So we reached out to Trinity's leadership, an official partnership was born, and we set out to build something that will honor Trinity's legacy while serving as a home for its community. That home is Perduras, a digital preservation platform built by Egents, where places live on as walkable virtual experiences for the people they shaped.
Here is how we approached it.
Step 1: Build a prelaunch platform.
Build an access point where alumni, faculty, staff, and other community members learn about the preservation effort and join a waitlist.
Step 2: Capture the entire campus.
In 360 degrees, photograph campus from the sky and the ground. Every building, every room, and outdoor spaces before the doors permanently close.
Step 3: Build the digital preservation platform.
Expand the prelaunch platform into a full digital preservation platform where Trinity's community can access and sustain their walkable virtual campus experience.
Step 4: Produce and launch.
Process the captured footage, create the first release of the walkable virtual experience, and welcome the Trinity community back home.
We have completed steps one and two. Our prelaunch platform has been live on Perduras, and over the past two months our focus has been on the capture itself. We spent days on campus capturing Ozinga Chapel, residence halls, DeVos athletic & recreation center, academic buildings, administrative buildings, and the outdoor spaces where Trinity's community lived and learned. All in 360 degrees. All completely immersive.
Steps three and four are underway. We are building the full digital preservation platform, producing the first release of the walkable experience, and will officially launch it on October 4th.
