Talk Nerdy 417 offers an admittedly interesting combination of (nerdy) services, but that's what happens when one kind of nerd (phone systems guy) meets another kind of nerd (social media girl), and they go tag team, and then back again. We checked it to wreck it, and then we began. Phone Systems Guy is your OG nerd - building phone systems and making your office run smoothly is his equivalent of

"day at the beach." And really it's probably best for his sensitive complexion. 😉 Did you know there were nerds in the world who ENJOY this stuff? We're so glad there are! Social Media Girl has been running social media accounts for various businesses and organizations, and her perfectionist traits (flaws?) led to her becoming an accidental nerd. Couple that with her grammar snobbery, and you've got yourself a social media manager to do the stuff you know needs to be done but can't find the time to do yourself. Let us get nerdy for you so you can spend more time being party-people!

We often get asked about VOIP phones, so we thought it might be helpful to share some VOIP FAQs:

1. What is VOIP?
👉 In technical terms, VOIP means "Voice Over Internet Protocol." In English, it's a phone system that can be customized to YOUR business needs - whether you're running a 1 person show or have multiple locations.

2. Is VOIP expensive?
👉 Not necessarily. There's actually a good possibility that this can SAVE you $$!

3. What kind of customized benefits can I get with a VOIP system?
👉 This is a long list of answers, and it will vary from one business to the next based on your needs/desires, but we'll try to summarize a few here for ya:

-No receptionist? No problem! We'll create a digital one to direct your calls.
-Need voice mails translated and sent to your email? We can do that!
-How about inbound calls that ring to only certain desks and in a particular order? We gotcha covered!
-What if you could operate from your cell phone as though it were your desk phone? Yup! We can do that, too!
-BUT CAN I KEEP MY PHONE NUMBER?!?! Yes, you can!

Ain't that the truth?!

Here's the thing: A VOIP phone system can replace your landline with increased benefits (and lower costs!) with customized features and mobile abilities, BUT we still encourage you to mentally clock out from time to time! Just because you have instant access to those voice mails doesn't mean you've gotta check them at all hours! We know that's easier said than done at times, but it's important! 😊

We speak Nerd so you don't have to!

What's that mean? It means our Nerd has the ability to understand what's happening at a technical level, AND he can translate it into "regular," non-Nerd language so YOU can understand what it means and - most importantly - how it applies to you and your business.

We're not sure if Josh has always had this gift or if he developed it as a marital survival skill. Either way, it's much appreciated by many and has served him well professionally (and personally 😂)!

We've purposely stepped back from socials over the last few weeks (do as we say, not as we do 😆) as we've "finished" our school year and focused on some really exciting client projects! (It sure would be nice to have a Social Media Manager for OUR socials! Ha! 😂)

Homeschooling is never really "complete," but rather we get to the point where we no longer have to record all of our activities and hours, and THAT is a glorious feeling! This kiddo is constantly learning, but lately he's teaching us all kinds of things! 😊

I vividly remember being at a drive-through (as a child) and hearing my dad say to my mom, "How is it we can talk to a man on the moon, but we can't understand each other through this speaker to order a burger?" 😂

Now, regardless of how you feel about the moon landing (but we're totally curious - what are your thoughts)?), that's a frustrating thought. You don't want your customers thinking the same thing when they call your office! VOIP phones typically have CLEARER voice quality than your typical landlines (plus they have customizable bells and whistles that are designed to make your life easier! Who doesn't love a customized bell or whistle?! 😆)!

We've said it before, and we'll continue to say it: Your audience wants to see your faces! You, your team, your customers/clients...they love it! Time and again we have seen increased engagement when clients step out of their comfort zone and share snapshots of themselves (or their team members).
