The Zenz: The Zenz are an ancient biomechanical species originating from the planet Braxx, a world whose technological ruins predate most known civilizations in the Kale Galaxy. According to galactic records and Zenz historical archives, their species has existed for millions of years, making them one of the oldest known intelligent races.
Long before other civilizations discovered interstellar travel, the Zenz had already mapped nearby star systems and established early colonies. Their influence quietly shaped the development of younger species across the galaxy, though they rarely interfered directly.
Where most civilizations pursue conquest, wealth, or expansion, the Zenz pursue knowledge.

The Wren: The most devastating period in Wren history came during the Rokkan Blood Wars.
During this brutal conflict, the brilliant Clansmagi Morstorm Bliss led a technological revolution that transformed Wren science and military capability. Determined to defeat the Rokkan Empire, Bliss began experimenting with advanced genetic and chemical weaponry.
His research would ultimately doom his own people.

The Oshua: The Oshua had no concept of space travel until the arrival of a group of Tutarian missionaries. Unlike many first-contact events, this meeting was neither conquest nor formal diplomacy. It was chaotic, confusing, and filled with cultural misunderstandings.
Yet it changed Oshua history forever.
The missionaries introduced off-world tools, energy systems, and fragments of galactic knowledge. Oshua engineers and tinkerers quickly began dismantling and studying this technology. Within a generation, they understood devices that had taken other civilizations centuries to develop.
While the Oshua never independently created faster-than-light travel, they quickly discovered other ways to leave their world.

The Rokkan: Long ago, the Rokkans were known as a peaceful and industrious species devoted primarily to engineering and resource extraction. However, their relentless demand for minerals and industrial materials eventually brought them into conflict with other races.
The most infamous of these conflicts were the Blood Wars with the Wren.
What began as a dispute over mineral rights escalated into a decade-long war of attrition across mining colonies, asteroid belts, and industrial worlds. Both sides suffered enormous losses, but the conflict left deep scars on Rokkan society.

The Shifter: No verified records exist of the Shifters’ point of origin. They first appeared without warning, arriving in a silent fleet of unfamiliar vessels from beyond known space. Initial contact reports describe them as courteous, cooperative, and remarkably open to diplomatic exchange. They expressed curiosity about other species and cultures, and for a time were regarded as model interstellar citizens.
That perception changed rapidly once their biological shifting ability became widely understood.

The Sythe: The Sythe were created during the Terran Genetic Wars, when the Falken Imperia faced overwhelming opposition from the Adulwulf Republic and its massive mercenary forces.
Terran scientists began experimenting with genetic manipulation in order to create the perfect soldier. Early attempts produced uncontrollable monstrosities, but eventually the Imperia succeeded in engineering the Sythe: powerful Terran derivatives with enhanced strength, durability, and combat instincts.
To maintain control over these soldiers, the Imperia deliberately limited their intelligence and shortened their lifespans to approximately twenty years.

Terran - Adulwulf Republic: The Adulwulf Republic, by contrast, was founded upon resistance to centralized Falken authority and maintains a republican government built around elected leadership and regional independence. The Republic has developed a powerful military of its own, relying heavily on technological innovation, professional soldiers, and its long history of employing mercenary forces.
Neither side has forgotten the Genetic Wars

The Skelians: To a Skelian, life is defined by the hunt. Hunting is not simply a survival skill—it is the foundation of their identity. A Skelian’s worth is measured by patience, endurance, and the ability to overcome prey that refuses to die easily. Once a Skelian commits to a hunt, they rarely abandon it. Failure is deeply humiliating, and many Skelians will pursue a quarry across continents or star systems until the matter is resolved.

Terran- Falken Imperia: The Terran home worlds remain divided by the legacy of the Genetic Wars. For more than two thousand years, the Falken Imperia was the dominant Terran power, ruled by an authoritarian imperial government. Today, it remains a powerful military and industrial state under Karsis Rasputin Falken, whose government continues to pursue Terran influence throughout the Kale Galaxy.

The Thel-Thein: The Thel-Thein evolved on the lush jungle world of Xameanides, a planet almost completely covered in forests, towering fungal growths, and massive botanical ecosystems that have remained largely unchanged for millions of years.
Unlike many intelligent species, the Thel-Thein never pursued technological expansion or interstellar conquest. Their civilization developed around philosophy, medicine, and the study of life itself rather than industry or war.
