75 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE

It's been 75 years since our country achieved her independence. But have we Indians achieved 'freedom'?

What is true freedom? Is it really the power to do whatever we feel like doing?

We see unrestrained liberty causing a lot of chaos today. 75 years after being freed from the rule of the British, we still find ourselves shackled by the chains of intolerance and injustice.

But true freedom should not constrain, it should only further liberate. And such a freedom can only be the power to know and choose what is good and right. For to be free is to be able to do as we ought.

Thus to be truly free is to have deep within us the liberty to love, to serve and to forgive. But are we really free to do this or are we bound by hate and bitterness?

There is One who claims to have come to "proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners." And the Bible says "if the Son of God sets you free, you will be free indeed"!
