There was a time when jokes, memes, and public mockery followed Manmohan Singh everywhere — all because the rupee hovered around 55. A globally respected economist was turned into a punchline, blamed relentlessly, and ridiculed day after day, even as he navigated India through one of its most complex and fragile economic phases.

Fast forward to today.
The rupee has crossed 90. Everyday expenses feel heavier. Inflation bites deeper.
And yet — the noise has disappeared.

No memes.
No outrage.
No prime-time accountability.

History has a quiet way of settling scores. Leadership is judged loudly in the moment, but legacy is written slowly, over years, beyond headlines and hashtags. While critics chase selective outrage and fleeting narratives, numbers remain steady, honest witnesses to time.

Somewhere beyond studio debates and trending outrage, the irony completes its circle: those who laughed then have little to say now, ansd the man once mocked is being re-evaluated with the distance that only time can provide.

Some lessons don’t need speeches.
The numbers speak well enough.
