Update: Rip Current Statement issued April 27 at 4:15AM CDT until May 1 at 4:00AM CDT by NWS Mobile AL

Mobile Coastal; Baldwin Coastal; Escambia Coastal; Santa Rosa Coastal; Okaloosa Coastal

* WHAT...For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents
expected. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves
building to 4 to 6 feet. A few large breaking waves up to around
7 feet possible along the western Florida panhandle coast on
Sunday.

* WHERE...Mobile Coastal, Baldwin Coastal, Escambia Coastal, Santa
Rosa Coastal and Okaloosa Coastal Counties.

* WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, through late Tuesday
night. For the High Surf Advisory, from 10 AM this morning to
7 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.

* WHAT...Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Arkansas and
east central and southeast Oklahoma.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 3 AM CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Winds this strong can make driving difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.

Motorists should exercise caution while driving. Be alert to
sudden gusts of wind which may cause you to lose control of your
vehicle. Extra attention should be given to cross winds and on
bridges and overpasses.

Idalia is capable of becoming a strong CAT 4 hurricane just before making landfall near Ceder Key Florida early Wednesday morning . Y’all this is no joke and should be taking seriously, people will lose their homes and/or lives . if you are in the Ceder Key region ( 75 miles ) evacuate , don’t stay .

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Franklin, located a couple of hundred miles east-northeast of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

In the Northwestern Caribbean Sea and eastern Gulf of Mexico, a broad area of low pressure over the northwestern Caribbean Sea is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions appear conducive for gradual development of this system during the next several days, and a tropical depression is likely to form late this weekend or early next week while moving generally northward over the northwestern Caribbean Sea and eastern Gulf of Mexico. Interests in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, western Cuba, and Florida should monitor the progress of this system. It has a low ( 30 percent) chance of formation in the next 48 hours and a high (70 percent) chance in the next 7 days.

In the Central Subtropical Atlantic (Remnants of Emily), a trough of low pressure located roughly 1000 miles east-northeast of Bermuda (the remnants of former Tropical Storm Emily) is producing an elongated area of disorganized showers and
thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are becoming less favorable for tropical cyclone formation, and the low is expected to merge with a frontal boundary over the north central Atlantic in the next day or so. For additional information on this system, including gale warnings, see High Seas Forecasts issued by the National Weather Service. It has a low (20 percent) chance of formation in the next 48 hours and 7 days.

In the Central Tropical Atlantic (AL92), disorganized showers and thunderstorms continue in association with an area of low pressure located about midway between the Cabo Verde Islands and the northern Leeward Islands. Environmental conditions
could become more conducive for development this weekend, and a tropical depression could form by early next week while the system moves generally northwestward toward the central subtropical Atlantic. It has a low (20 percent) chance of formation in the next 48 hours and a medium (50 percent) chance in the next 7 days.
