This is one of the first zombie movies I watched as a kid (RotLD being the first) and is one of the inspirations for my own filmmaking.

To celebrate the spooky season, I posted an HD version with some intro commentary by yours truly.

The story follows seven people trapped in a farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania, under assault by reanimated corpses. This is one of my favorite movies, and one ...

A History of Horror: Episode 50 - Hereditary (2018)

This is the final episode of A History of Horror. I want to thank everyone who's been supportive over the years and have motivated me to continue this journey of being a filmmaker.

When I started this series, I set out to review and analyze 50 horror movies from the past hundred years - mainly as a means to keep myself entertained during COVID. I lost steam with the project midway through, but I really wanted to finish what I started, so I decided to spread it over the next four years. The end result is a 3 hour and 21 minutes series of videos that I'm mostly proud of.

A History of Horror: Episode 49 - It (2017)

Remakes and reboots are usually garbage, but every few years one comes out and hits a home run.

Also, next week will be the final episode of this series.

Remakes usually get a bad rep, but every few years one comes out that hits a home run. This is one of those instances.

A History of Horror: Episode 45 - House of 1000 Corpses (2003)

I wanted to spotlight the musicians who use horror elements in their music, videos, stage shows, etc. Rob Zombie's movies tend to be hit or miss, but I really like this one. It was an experiment on whether his talents for directing music videos could be expanded to a feature length film.

A History of Horror: Episode 44 - 28 Days Later (2002)

In the wake of 9/11, horror villains became quicker and more vicious. This can be seen in 28 Days Later, and the evolution of the "fast zombie".

A History of Horror: Episode 41 - Scream (1996)

This is my honest attempt at analyzing Scream in the most spoiler-free way possible.

This is the movie that not only revitalized the slasher genre, but it once again made horror a good box office investment for studios. And the fact that after 28 years, the Ghostface is still a popular Halloween costume speaks to its impact on pop culture.
