Metin Bereketli's "Mahatma Gandhi" original painting in the Netherlands "if then is now" cultural website!
Dear Editor,
I have been a life subscriber of NewsIndia Times. I have been writing since 2010 via email regarding the overdose of your paper's publisher Mr. Parikh's picture on almost every issue of the paper.
I totally understand that the paper belongs to the esteemed doctor, padmasri award winner, but, it doesn't behoove his prestige by publishing multiple pictures of him in multiple pages. I guess, you might want to fill the pages -- and what better than printing his picture. He reminds me of another publicity craze congress MP -- TSR Subbarami Reddi -- who is the brother of the daily paper 'Deccan Chronicle'. Similar to Dr, Parikh, TSR's pictures used to be published on the paper with one excuse or another -- such as honoring x, inaugurating some function, diwali, etc. I shred to imagine visiting his office and see wall-to-wall covering of his picture. As a good doctor should know, "too much of anything is bad for health".
If Dr. Parikh is so enamored of seeing his picture in his paper, sure, he can do that and can rename the paper to Parikh times.
This is beyond sycophancy. I know, I have been saying this for 10 years and totally understand that old habits are hard to break.
Again, consider other prestigious papers like NY Times, WSJ, Washington Post and one seldom sees the publisher's picture in the paper.
I hope you take this letter in the spirit and keep this in mind when you publish the paper going forward.
Thank you in advance for your consideration
