RVCP, known for their mission of promoting peace, social justice, and environmental well-being, will start rehearsals Sept. 4.

New singers are invited to join the Rogue Valley Peace Choir (RVPC) for its first rehearsal of the 2025-2026 season on Thursday, Sept. 4, at the First United Methodist Church, 175 N. Main St., Ashland. Registration begins at 6 p.m. with rehearsal starting at 6:30.

The council approves nearly $1 million in shelter upgrades to reopen by November and unanimously adopts a wildfire plan.

The Ashland City Council on Tuesday approved a nearly $1 million contract amendment for critical upgrades to the city’s emergency shelter at 2200 Ashland St. so it can legally shelter up to 32 people during severe weather. Councilors also approved a 10-year wildfire protection plan.
