I want to introduce something that means a lot to me.. The First Cast Project.

There are kids in our community who would love to go fishing, but sometimes the extra money for a rod, reel and tackle simply isn’t there.

I don’t want money to be the reason a kid misses out on their first cast.

Our first goal is to collect, clean up and refurbish 50–100 fishing combos by spring and hopefully many more after that.

We’re accepting donations of any kind: rods, reels, tackle, fishing gear, monetary donations, or anything else that can help. Donations can be dropped off at Lakeside Tackle, or just message me and we’ll arrange to get them.

And when spring comes, if your child could use a fishing rod, come see us. Grab a rod, head down to the lake, and go make some memories together. No embarrassment. No judgment. That’s exactly what these rods are here for.

That old fishing pole collecting dust could become a kid’s first rod, first fish, and the beginning of a lifetime of memories.

This is just the beginning. Let’s see how many first casts we can make happen.
