The AB Custom Humbuckers are a reimagining of the very first Sheptone pickup set that launched the brand back in 2007. Built entirely by hand—one at a time—using proprietary butyrate bobbins, 42 AWG plain enamel wire, rough cast Alnico 5 magnets, and nickel silver baseplates, these pickups deliver the kind of tone that inspires from the first note.
Designed to be a medium-output, PAF-style humbucker with just the right amount of extra push, the AB Customs offer exceptional clarity, warmth, and punch with the responsiveness and articulation players have come to expect from Sheptone. Each set measures approximately 8.5k (bridge) and 8.0k (neck) for perfectly balanced output across positions. Choose from double black, zebra, reverse zebra, or period-correct nickel steel covers in nickel or gold-plated finishes.
