Neve 1073

A legendary preamp that has been used on countless record over the past 50+ years. Rupert Neve designed this preamp for the A88 desk commissioned by Wessex Studios in London in 1970. It’s known for its saturation and pleasing harmonic distortion that artists like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and others helped to popularize. It sounds great on everything and we love using them here at the studio!

Lester piano - Betsy Ross Spinet model

This is our first piano inside the CCE studio and we could not be more stoked on that! Within 10 minutes of bringing it in we had mics on it. It sounds beautiful and has both a rich and full tone while also being bright and present sounding.

The Lester piano company started in 1888 in Philadelphia, PA. They built a full line of pianos such as grand pianos and player pianos. The Betsy Ross Spinet upright piano was their most popular model and helped get them through the Great Depression. The went out of business in the 1960s.

GEAR HIGHLIGHT. Neumann TLM 49: This mic was introduced in 2001, modeled after the classic M49. Although it’s not a tube mic like the M49, its FET circuitry has extremely low noise and is designed to give a classic tube like sound while still sounding smooth, silky and transparent on vocals and other instruments.
