On June 24, 2022, our rights to bodily autonomy were taken away from us.

Missouri was the first state in our nation to enact the trigger law. My family and I are lifelong Missourians.

Following the United States Supreme Court's ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt signed a proclamation bringing into effect the state's "trigger law", banning all non-medically necessary abortions.
He did this, minutes after the ruling.

Minutes.

The results have been as expected, and will only get worse.
The decision has caused families and relationships to suffer, family planning and choice to be affected, people of color to be marginalized and treated less fairly, medications to be denied to people who need them, and has even caused unnecessary deaths.

This is not an exaggeration, this is exactly what has happened.
This has been allowed to occur by a society built by fearful white men in power, who fear they might lose control.

But... this affects the entire county. Most importantly to me, it affects my daughter.

Since that morning, I have been doing everything in my power, to do my part to help repair that injustice.
