After the hashtag began trending online, many Cartoon Network viewers voiced their fears that the network was going out of business.
Cartoon fans were urged to “spread the word about what’s at stake” by Animation Workers Ignited, a group that seems to be linked to the animators’ union, who took to X to bring attention to problems inside the animation business.
An account encouraging users to “post about your favourite Cartoon Network shows using ” caused speculation that the popular network was about to announce its studio closure shortly.
Fans started sharing a snapshot of the network’s former headquarters, which was purportedly taken last year after the firm had moved its premises, adding fuel to the fire of rumours of an official demise.
Cartoon Network Studios and the Cartoon Network channel both did cancel certain shows during the epidemic, but there is no proof that they are going out of business.
