Kamden Willis, 19, appeared in Jefferson County court Tuesday and was granted $300,000 bond on two reckless murder charges stemming from a crash that killed Treylen Floyd and Tristan Cox and injured six others in July.

Prosecutors say speed and alcohol were factors in the single-vehicle wreck.

Bond conditions include no contact with the victims’ families, monthly drug and alcohol testing and suspended license. Willis was released from the Jefferson County Jail around 4:30 p.m.

Authorities say a planned attack on Alabama synagogues was prevented, and the suspect from Needham in Choctaw County is now in custody.

The Birmingham Jewish Federation responded (excerpt): "Please be aware that while the investigation is ongoing and additional details may emerge in the days ahead, there is no credible threat to our community at this time. Our Secure Community Network (SCN) Regional Security Advisor, who serves our Birmingham Jewish community, has been in direct coordination with the FBI and law enforcement partners since the first alerts were raised."

‼️UPDATE: The motion has been granted, and the hearing has been continued to April 13, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.

‼️DEVELOPING: Kahleb Collins Case

Another delay has been filed in the case against Wendy Bailey, the mother of Kahleb Collins, whose remains are believed to have been found earlier this year.

Bailey’s attorney has filed a motion to postpone her plea day set for Nov. 12, 2025, stating that the State has not yet provided discovery materials and the defense is still gathering records. The District Attorney is not opposing the delay.

Bailey was arrested in Dec. 2024, and she has never appeared in an open courtroom. Her arraignment in August was waived, and her hearings have been continued or canceled at least three times — in Feb., Mar., Apr., and now possibly Nov. 2025.

Nearly a year after her arrest, the case is still waiting to move forward, and there has yet to be a public court appearance from Wendy Bailey.

Meanwhile, her father, John Bailey, who is also charged in connection with Kahleb’s disappearance, is still scheduled to appear on Nov. 12, and no motion to continue has been filed for him as of now.
