Good afternoon, everyone!

I'm sure you're wondering what happened to the Website update and other things we mentioned before. Here goes: the journey I began with my poor eyes five years ago is still ongoing. I do at last believe an end may be in sight, but I'm not yet certain how long completion will take. The Ectropion repair surgery on my lower eyelids is scheduled on Wednesday, November 19 for what I believe will be a brief outpatient procedure. I won't bore you with the details, but I also am unsure how long it will take to recover or to know how successful the procedure was.

There is an optional, additional procedure if the simple one isn't all we hope it will be. So keep your fingers crossed because the more complicated procedure will undoubtedly also entail a longer recovery time. If that second procedure doesn't produce the desired outcome, I'll be forced to stop trying to be a publisher, not withstanding I've already almost done that for the last five years. So... Onward through the fog.

In the meantime Denise is working on putting together the new website, transferring our domains and our hosting to a less expensive service than GoDaddy and organizing our bookkeeping in hopes of keeping more of the money from our meager sales so we can maybe pay royalties again. Our overhead has been so high we haven't had any profits for years now. No profits means no money to pay royalties, which is beyond terrible. Ugh!

Please know as soon as we are able to move forward that we will. While you're waiting for more news, please write us again. I'm afraid I haven't kept up with all the responses as well as I thought I'd be able to long before now.

PLEASE NOTE: SEND YOUR RESPONSES IN A SEPARATE EMAIL INSTEAD OF HITTING REPLY SO I CAN KEEP TRACK OF THEM BETTER. I'VE BEEN DOING EMAIL ON MY PHONE AND YAHOO INSISTS ON GROUPING EVERYTHING INTO ONE LONG, ENDLESS THREAD, WHICH DOES NOT WORK AFTER SEVERAL RESPONSES. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL GSP AUTHORS, PAST OR PRESENT:

Dear Authors,

We are proud to have you as part of Gypsy Shadow Publishing, and we have some important information for you.

We are finally on the verge of being able to update our website, gypsyshadow.com/. That's an exciting thing for us, because we haven't been able to update it for years now.

CURRENT PUBLISHED AUTHORS, PLEASE COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING REQUESTS BY OCTOBER 1, 2025 (OR RESPOND WITH A REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL TIME):

1. A current bio and an updated photo of yourself (professional, if possible).
2. Your current physical and email addresses and telephone numbers.
3. Current links to your website and/or social media(s).
4. New, terse and exciting blurbs for each of your GSP books (around 25-50 words).
5. The name and contact information for a person who can respond in your behalf, if our attempts to contact you are not successful.
6. Your contract states that your publishing rights will revert to your estate. Unhappily, we have lost contact with a few authors' heirs when they passed away and we feel it is our obligation to remove their information from the website and their books from publication. For this reason, we humbly request you instruct your contact person to let us know ASAP should you become deceased.
7. Authors who comply with these requests will be included on the new website, which will be published on October 15, 2025. All others will be uploaded and included on the website when we receive updated information.

AUTHORS WHO ARE NO LONGER UNDER CONTRACT WITH GYPSY SHADOW PUBLISHING:

Some of you have been released from your contracts, but your author page and books are still on the GSP website and are scheduled to be removed when we update the site. Be assured that all your publication rights reverted to you at the time of your release, as far as GSP is concerned. Charlotte Holley has removed or requested removal on all of the websites where we placed the books for distribution. We are unable to control the listings which remain on Amazon and some of the other vendors. They do not respect requests to remove them from currently available books. If you are no longer affiliated with GSP or you wish to sever your relationship with us, please tell us ASAP.

Some of you have not received royalty payments in a long time. At this time, Gypsy Shadow is not operating at a profit. The contracts state that we will pay 50% (or your percentage, as stated in your contract) of the income after operating expenses. In the past, we have covered all expenses, and paid 50% of the royalties we received (or your percentage, as stated in your contract). In recent years, advancing age and increasing expenses have caused us to look at the company realistically.

We do hope the release of a new website and announcements across all available outlets will increase all our sales and lead to our ability to pay the expenses and royalties. Please bear with us and spread the word that you have books available for purchase online.
