Today we remember and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr Cynthia Thompson, a true trailblazer and, as many described her, simply “a great person.”
One of the first women to represent Jamaica at the Olympics, she became the first Jamaican, male or female, to contest an Olympic 100m final.
Her excellence continued beyond the track, where she went on to serve generations of Jamaican children as a respected and compassionate paediatrician.
