Flood Advisory issued August 17 at 7:22AM CDT until August 17 at 7:30AM CDT by NWS Chicago IL: The Flood Advisory will expire at 730 AM CDT this morning for
portions of northeast Illinois, including the following areas, Cook
and DuPage and northwest Indiana, including the following area, Lake
IN.

The heavy rain has ended and remaining flood waters have likely

Flood Advisory issued August 17 at 5:32AM CDT until August 17 at 12:00PM CDT by NWS Chicago IL: * WHAT...Continued flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected. This Flood Advisory is replacing the Flash Flood Warning
that was in effect.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast Illinois, including the following
counties, Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will.

* WHEN...Until noon CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may continue in poor drainage and urban areas, including flooded
underpasses, roads, and streets.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 532 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen
overnight. Runoff from this rainfall will cause continued
flooding issues across portions of the advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Aurora, Joliet, Naperville, Elgin, Bolingbrook, Orland Park,

Flash Flood Warning issued August 17 at 5:01AM CDT until August 17 at 5:30AM CDT by NWS Chicago IL: At 501 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that the torrential rain
producing thunderstorms have diminished in coverage. However,
pockets of heavy rain were still occurring over southeast Kane
County and far northeast Kendall County. Between 3 and 4 inches of
rain have fallen. Up to 0.5 inches of additional rainfall may occur
in the next 30 minutes in portions of the warned area. Flash
flooding is likely already occurring in much of the warned area.

HAZARD...Flash flooding.

IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage
ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and
other poor drainage areas.
