(AP) — Authorities in face shields and other protective gear have been searching for three monkeys that escaped from a truck that overturned on a Mississippi highway earlier in the week. Officials say animal experts from Tulane University examined the crashed truck and determined three monkeys had escaped after Tuesday's crash on Interstate 59 near Heidelberg, Mississippi. Those searching for the monkeys on Wednesday were scouring fields near the crash site Wednesday. Video recorded after the crash showed monkeys crawling through tall grass beside the interstate. It remained unclear who owns the monkeys, who was transporting them and where they were being taken when the truck crashed.

As SNAP benefits end, food pantries will need your help more than ever. You can feel good about your donation to Extra Table , based in Hattiesburg. Extra Table is not government-funded. Every dollar donated to Extra Table buys nutritious, shelf-stable food that goes straight to their network of 66 partner food pantries statewide. Every single month, Extra Table spends $95,000 delivering truckloads of food — proteins, fruits, pasta, and essential staples — to fill plates across Mississippi. Instead of a canned food drive, your dollars allow Extra Table to use their bulk buying power to purchase and deliver truckloads of nutritious food directly where it’s needed most. Could you donate just $10 today? $10 would allow Extra Table to provide between 30-40 meals for a hungry family! Text 'FeedMS' to 44321 to donate instantly or go to www.extratable.org
