Our company's name comes from Psalm 106:8 in the Bible, "Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make known his mighty power." Working an 9-to-5 job was not my cup of tea. Well, sort of. Like everyone else in America, however, I was comfortable getting a paycheck every week. Yet, my spirit felt the opposite. I would look out the window of my workplace and see the birds landing near the grape myrtle trees. They were free. I wasn't. Seeing so much freedom in them, I began to desire the same. As I read my Bible, I began to develop this quenching thirst to find purpose for my life. I had been an actor at one point. But that's all I ever knew about the film world. Soon, the desire to create films became a necessity. In my mind, creating films meant making 2-3 hour movies and distributing them in the Big Screens. But, the Lord had a different perspective. I spent 8 months looking for a local production company to take me in and teach me everything needed about film. But, no one welcomed me immediately. I took the opportunity to use my vacation days to attend a film festival in San Antonio, TX, where I learned so much about our dying world. I heard stories about many people fearlessly standing up against the evil marring our society...poverty, injustice...innocent children slained...human trafficking. My heart was stirred. Their stories were told through the lens of the media. At that moment, I knew I could make an impact. I may not be out there in the line of fire. But, I can surely capture their stories. I was so eager that when I came back to Jacksonville I gave my two-week notice. The day I stepped out, I felt so free. Immediately, the Lord opened the door for me to learn how to run camera and edit through a man, who was willing to teach me everything there is about filmmaking by capturing weddings. Today, we are delighted to say that our company is growing and our service is not just to capture the story, but in consulting our customers on how to tell it better.

Want your photos to look like they belong in a magazine?”

Light is the Boss – Light is the most important thing when taking a great photo. You need to know where the light is coming from and how strong it is. Good lighting helps people’s faces look better and colors pop more. If it’s too dark or too bright, your photo won’t look its best. A pro photographer knows how to use natural sunlight or flashes to make every shot shine.

Color Makes It Pop – Bright, bold, or soft and moody—colors tell a story in your photo. When colors match or stand out just right, your picture feels more powerful. Think about how a blue sky looks next to a bright red shirt—boom! That’s the magic of color. A great photographer knows how to play with color to make photos stand out.

How You Frame It (Composition) – This is all about where things are placed in the photo. Is the person in the middle or off to the side? What’s in the background? Good composition helps guide your eyes and makes the photo easy to look at. Photographers use something called the "rule of thirds" to help make things look just right.

The Right Lens = The Right Look – Not all lenses are the same. Some make people look closer. Some make the background look fuzzy and cool. Choosing the right lens is like picking the right tool for a job—it makes a huge difference. A pro knows which lens to grab to make each photo perfect.

Little Details Matter – Even small things, like how someone is standing or where their hands are, can change a photo. Paying attention to those tiny details makes a big picture feel even more special. That’s the kind of care you want from someone behind the camera.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommas.

But most importantly, to the mother of my children. You are the greatest gift to me and to our 10 babies 😉. We have 3...so far...

Another franchising video for a Peruvian restaurant, El Tambo Grill. One of my favorite cuisine is authentic food from Peru. I am not saying that because I happen to be Peruvian, but it's a fact, y'all. Hands down! Peruvian food is the best in the world.

What a great time we had filming for .espresso. I kid you not, this is the best place to drink a and enjoy a buttery, crispy croissant sandwich. Most places serve their very salty, like drinking a hand-scoop of ocean water, but not this place. Their are soothing and thirst-quenching.

The people, in the photo with me, are Vanilla's staff and a courteous bunch. They show their love for their customers through the way they serve. They are excellent at communicating with each other. The Cruz family really has something special here.

They are now and if every franchise they help open, carries that sweet culture, I believe they will rise in no time.

Does your client have a hard time in front of the camera? Or are you the one who cannot get used to talking to a camera?
Try these tips.

99% of the time, we either write the script or they write it for the day of the shoot. To us, everything needs to be pre-scripted. As we understand that in the entrepreneurship world, "𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆".

No kidding. I blink and my baby is now 8 years old.

But for most business owners, time IS valuable. So, scripting a video is more likely to reduce time in front of the camera and allow you to manage production better, because everything is pre-planned based out of the script.

After the script has been approved by the client, we use a teleprompter on the day of the shoot. It is used to save them time on memorizing the script. We then repeat the reading 3 times.

On the first take, we just have them read the entire script without stopping. Our goal here is to have them become familiar with talking and looking at the camera. We want them to begin getting comfortable. Here is where we find out their audio levels for the microphone, and their reading speed. Depending on their comfort, we either slow the scrolling or speed it up some. I tend to encourage the client to read it at a speed faster than their usual reading to help with the energy.

On the 2nd take, we provide them with more instruction. We still have to keep in mind though that they are not Chris Pratt nor Jennifer Lawrence. So we make sure we are not overwhelming them with too much instruction. They take queues like where to place their hands when they are resting them or how to use them when they do move them. What words to emphasize that can keep their speech from sounding too monotoned. We take a little extra with client, who's English is their second language. We teach them how to say certain words, or change them if they become too complex for them to pronounce.

The 3rd take is a safety. By this time, the client is a lot more comfortable and feels like they OWN the interview. If they mess up, we only tell them to repeat that particular sentence. We handle any long pauses, and cut out anything useless.

We are coaching them in every take, making sure we are speaking optimistically to them and not demotivating them from doing the video. Working with them at their pace helps with reducing their anxiety. When we hear them say, "Wow...this didn't feel bad at all", we did our part well.

BTW, this is my good friend, Evan Weisberg, owner of Tutors Who Care. Wait for his franchising video to show here!

For a video tutorial on how we handle teleprompted scripts, type in the word, "VIDEO" in the comment section below. If I get 20 people total interested, I will make one.
