Commodore Recording Studio in Thurmont is looking for individuals of all ages to read a 15-minute script of words and commands to help train smart appliances to better understand different American accents and dialects. We need readers from all areas of the U.S., of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. This is a list of commands like “make ice”, “wash my clothes” “Hi Siri”, etc. In addition to making $20 you might have fun seeing the studio! We can schedule individuals, families, or groups… but allow about 30 minutes per-person for each script.

This is a friendly public service message for anyone who books studio time! The worst two things that can happen to a booking are:

1. Getting to the end of an all-day session and having the client say "...oops, I forgot my wallet..." which doesn't happen very often...
and
2. Having a session booked where the client is a no-show and does not call to cancel, which actually happens a lot. In fact, I had three of those today, a new record!

Please remember that when you book a session, I have cleared my calendar just for you and may have turned down other work for that time. I also can't book sessions for "sometime tomorrow" or "arriving between 6:00 and 8:00." Remember a booked session is an appointment. just like a doctor's appointment, a church service, or anything else that starts at a specific time. The schedule is very tight and the timing can be tricky, so please be mindful of that, and if you need to make changes let me know!

Well folks, it's that time of year again! This is a reminder that studio time makes a great holiday gift for your friends and family. Commodore gift certificates are available in any amount, and if purchased before Dec. 15 will be discounted 10% from the current rate of $75/hr! The certificates reflect a number of hours rather than dollars, so it will be easy to keep track of time used throughout the year.
