Making the decision to move forward with multiple invasive surgeries to be able to walk again was just the first step; recovery and building my strength back up again followed, and still does to this day. That initial first step has taken me to present day, 10 years after my eldest daughter was married, and I'm still out of the wheelchair and walking miles every day. When my youngest daughter gets married, I'll be there to walk her too. I'm especially grateful to my wife, who has been by my side for 36 years, through it all. You can listen more to my story in this short clip, or watch the entire episode at the link below.

When I sat down with YoggNation podcast, I pushed through my emotions to speak about what inspired my journey to go from sitting in a wheelchair, to being able to walk again - walking my eldest daughter down the aisle at her wedding. With the amazing support from my wife and two daughters, among many others, I went to an incredible doctor who started me on a path to healing and walking again. I sat down with YoggNation podcast to have a conversation about why I started my podcast: One More Thing Before You Go, and what I'm grateful for. I wanted to be able to let others express their emotions and their grief, or even their acceptance and their love through a powerful, conversational outlet. You can see a quick clip here, and watch the full episode at the link below. Enjoy!

Join us for a heartfelt and powerful episode, brought to you by Podcasthon's special international charity event! This poignant episode serves as a clarion call for American warriors grappling with the profound challenges of mental health, specifically highlighting the critical mission of *Warriors Heart*, the first accredited residential treatment program in the nation dedicated exclusively to active-duty military, veterans, Police Officers, Firefighters, and EMTs/paramedics.

I am joined by the remarkable Tom Spooner, a former Special Forces/Delta Operator and co-founder of Warriors Heart, who shares his deeply personal journey of overcoming chemical dependencies, PTSD, and traumatic brain injuries sustained during his 21 years of service in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Throughout our conversation, we confront the pressing issues of su***de prevention and the stigma associated with seeking help, emphasizing the vital message that true strength lies in acknowledging one’s struggles and reaching out for support. Tom’s narrative not only embodies resilience but also serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us that no warrior should ever feel alone in their battles. We urge anyone in need to seek help, as Warriors Heart stands ready to guide our heroes back to healing and purpose.
