International School of Comics Chicago is deeply saddened to hear that one of our beloved instructors and friends passed away.
Thomas Gianni
Thomas was a very brilliant artist and he loved teaching, which is a rarity! He couldn’t wait to share his knowledge, it was a major commitment and mission for him. We have been honored to have him at the school.
ISC is a very small school and each member becomes family to us.
With Thomas was easy to feel as family. Since the school opened its doors, he helped us to grow the business, not only as a teacher but as advisor.

Personally he helped me to feel more comfortable and competent in a new country and with a new job. I am profoundly grateful for his his generosity, his professional expertise and his courage.
He was resilient and dedicated colleague. He believed in us. Thank you Tom.

Me with all ISC’s, Douglas Klauba, Dan Dougherty, Jill Thompson, the students and all the Chicagoan arts community will surely miss the presence of a truly kind and knowledgeable friend.

We want to remember his memory thinking that even when someone departs from this earth never truly leaves.
In a terrible moment for the entire humanity, we even did not have the time to say goodbye to many, for they are still alive in our hearts, through us... ..and because of Tom, through HIS ART, he lives on.
Our condolences to all his friends, to his family, to Karen and Anna Gianni.

Sincerely,
Annalisa Vicari
Director

RIP Thomas Gianni
