🎢 NEWS: Dollywood’s iconic Blazing Fury roller coaster reopens this Friday!

The indoor coaster was built back in 1978. The park has been doing some work on the attraction during its recent downtime, and it’s ready to welcome riders starting on July 4th.

In honor of its firefighting theme, members of the Pigeon Forge Fire Department will be the first riders.

A GIANT POTHOLE caused about 30 cars to have tire blowouts on I-294 today.

The Tollway said the hole measured about eight feet by three feet, caused by a heat related buckle in the pavement.

The incident happened during the morning rush and crews were working since then, getting the two lanes reopened by about 3pm. Nobody was injured - only their cars. 😞 🚗

Has anybody else noticed a lot more bumps on the roadways over the last few weeks of extreme heat? Seems to be happening in a lot of places, thankfully not to this severe extent.

The streaming service announced that they will begin streaming “LIVE rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, mission coverage, and breathtaking live views of Earth from the International Space Station” starting sometime this summer.

⛽️ ILLINOIS GAS TAX INCREASES TOMORROW ⛽️

The current gas tax is 45 cents per gallon. Starting July 1st, it will go up to 48.3 cents per gallon. That means the average driver will spend an extra 24-32 cents per fill up.

Illinois residents pay the second-highest gas tax in the country, behind California.

CORRECTION: Illinois’s current gas tax is actually 47 cents per gallon, not 45 cents as we stated on the newscast this morning. The other numbers - including the new gas tax rate of 48.3 cents - are still correct. Apologies for the mistake.

Happy Jerry Seinfeld Vomit Day!

In “The Masseuse” episode of “Seinfeld” Season 5, Jerry claims that he has not vomited since June 29, 1980. Seeing that the episode aired in 1993, it’s estimated Jerry’s streak spanned 13 years.

Fans of the show know how that streak ends - after Jerry eats a black and white cookie at a bakery in “The Dinner Party” episode later that season.
