Anne Arundel First Alert Under the parent company "The Arundel.News," AA First Alert is the active newsroom bringing you breaking news as it happens with follow-up's from ANN

Hi folks and thanks for looking at Anne Arundel First Alert!

**WE ARE A NON-PROFIT (NP) NEWS SERVICE AND NOT THE AA COUNTY GOVT. Sorry for the loud caps, but we didn't want to waste your time telling you that we are the "Go-To" channel for breaking news in Anne Arundel County. And that we created a national NP News Network based on the AAFA model. First Alert Nation was created for the purpose of

providing "Hyper-Local" information to our subscribers, nationwide. All in real-time. Of course, by the time we tell you all this, you're probably still wondering why we won't come out and plow your street or take your recycling? Again it's because we are a *News Service and not the AA County Government. However, as a non-profit service, we can take donations! So if you don't have any luck getting the County to plow your street or take your recycling, call us! There's nothing like seeing a group of geeky reporters shoveling snow! Why, because we are a NEWS SERVICE! As always, thanks for subscribing.

July for AAFA - Still going strong!

It was 12 years ago this month that Anne Arundel First Alert posted its first incident. And twelve years later our posts are still coming out. Thank you so much for supporting us over the years.

Our numbers are high, and this is ALL because of our great hometown subscribers. We love reading your comments and we love talking to you off line. You’ve supported us through covid, all our needed radio changes, FB changes and more. It hasn’t been easy, but you stuck with us.

One big example is when we started posting HE**IN OD’s. Under the campaign “MARCH - STOP THE MADNESS.” Comparing it to the popular sports term “MARCH MADNESS.” This forced our subscribers to see the dirty side of drug addiction. Up close. And what did many say? My kid wouldn’t do that. REALLY?

County officials saw this as a perfect Segway to follow up our campaign with “NOT MY CHILD!” Where officials warned parents of the REAL possibility that it could be their child. Next came SAFE STATIONS (AACoFD) where addicts got help immediately at any Fire Station - Before they died of an OD.

Governor Hogan saw the lead that AACo Officials took during our campaign, appointing former AACo Executive Steve Schuh as Marylands Drug Czar, after losing his reelection to Steuart Pittman.

So the next time someone says, “First Alert is just a bunch of guys listening to a scanner, what good do they do?” Remind them, that YOU support us. And our work has been palpable. Bringing news to you and to the news. Which is why we have been credited by all the local and major news outlets. To include FOX and CNN.

This may sound like I’m bragging, which I am. 😊 But not for me. It is true, I post 99% of the calls, but the team behind the scenes is huge.

Holly Basta has been the face of AAFA with her on-scene reports. Chris Hatch handles Marylands Eastern Shore. Posting on Queen Anne’s First Alert and Ocean City First Alert. We lost Kevin Cox who was a retired MDTA police officer. RIP Buddy!

We have many more folks behind the scenes. Some want to be recognized like Steve Dye our Weather Guy, while others don’t. But one group of folks NEVER get recognized and that’s our MODS!

These folks police our page for bots and scams. They bust their butts making sure you don’t see them. Occasionally a few get by. But it’s very few.

Here are our MODS for 2025 - THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!
