Registration is open for the 12th Annual West Valley Veterans Day Ceremony and 5K/1-mile walk and run at Estrella Mountain Community College, 3000 N. Dysart Road in Avondale on Tuesday, Nov. 11, with the 1-mile run at 9:45 a.m. and the 5K at 10 a.m. Packet pickups are on Nov. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—all proceeds benefit the Dr. Ernest Lara—EMCC Veterans Scholarship Fund to help veteran students.

The Georgia T. Lord Library held a free public lecture that explored the Baroque and Bauhaus art movements. Phoenix Art Museum docent Dawn Van Scoik explained the contrasting art styles — linking form with politics and design.

The high school cross country season began Aug.27 and coaches from West Valley Preps and Litchfield/Goodyear shared plans for runners and newcomers—focusing on district titles and state qualification to drive team progress.

Wilde Wealth Management Group opened a new office in Goodyear at 1626 N. Litchfield Road, Suite 280 — a 3,010-square-foot space led by managing partner Brian Hershey. The office also houses estate planning firm Phelps LeClair — expanding the firm’s West Valley presence with locations in Glendale, Sun City-Surprise and beyond.
