🌺I love orchids🌼. They have become one of my preferred flower gifts and flowers I display in my home. Flowers bring me joy😊!
🌺I have an orchid sitting by a window in my kitchenette. I received it on Mother’s Day. I enjoyed the orchid flowers for about two months then eventually, the petals fell off, and it was left bare for a while. About a month ago, it rebloomed and I noticed the new blooms have bigger petals 😊😊. Beautiful!
🌺👉Anyone who loves orchids and cultivates orchid plants knows that orchids do go into seasons of rest or dormancy. Dormancy is the state where the orchid has no flowers but make no mistake, it is not dead! In the state of dormancy, with no petals, the orchid looks bare and it's easy to throw it out thinking it is no longer of use. The key to getting the orchid to rebloom is to continue to care for the plant through the dormant period. To thrive, orchids need bright, indirect light; cooler temperatures at night to stimulate flowering; high humidity - water in the right measure to produce flowers, and proper plant food specialized for orchids. If you continue to do these things, your orchid will eventually rebloom. Orchids bloom mostly in the summer and fall.
🌺👉In life, we sometimes go through seasons of dormancy similar to an orchid. These are seasons in our life where we might feel like we are not flourishing😞, we do not have any blooms, or we are not bearing fruit. This could be in your relationships, money, work, or health, where you just don’t feel at the peak of your performance. The key thing to do, just like with orchids, you have to water and feed through the drought season.
🌺👉Just like it is easy to throw out a bare-looking orchid, we can throw our hands and feel like giving up. Don’t give up because your best is yet to come!😅💃
🌺👉Is your money going through dormancy?
In these times with high inflation, predictions of a recession, the stock market down 20+%, falling real estate values and currency fluctuations, your economy may be in or going into a state of dormancy. What do you do? Giving up will not fix anything. We must continue to water all areas of our lives to nurture our productivity. This includes taking care of our minds, souls, and body. Even when we feel like our efforts are not being rewarded, we must continuously push forward on our productivity, looking for new and improved ways to better our processes while cutting back on costs, in business and our work. Also, continue to plug in resources of time, money, and relationships knowing that our diligence will bear fruit in due season.
🌺👉Like orchids, you will bloom again in whatever area you feel you have fallen behind. The season of drought might have been a setback, but if you keep sowing into your life and work, this will become a setup for a comeback. And when you come back, you will blossom with bigger, brighter petals.🌸🌺
🌺👉Setbacks are tough but they are sometimes necessary for life. The question is, how do we take care of the setback, so we can have a much bigger, better, and brighter comeback?

Before life gets too serious, a little back to school getaway/staycation to splash some water and hang out with these cool boys! Summer flew by and we are now back to school to higher class grades, learning and homework! This Saturday I sent of my last client assignment, packed a small bag and off we went to do nothing but lazy around on the lazy river! So much fun! An awesome staycation at the Ga***rd Texas! Their new water park, Spring paradise was Uber fun!

For super soft flakey Chapatis I add about 1 cup of cooked puréed butternut squash! It does not change the chapati flavor but guarantees super soft chapatis every time. I also add protein powder for a little added nutrition!
I cook a whole butternut squash and portion it out to freeze so when I make chapatis I just grab a pack from the freezer!

With swimming and summer activities, black/ afro hair can dry out. To keep our boys hair soft, shiny and long lasting coils, here is what I do!

My take on any non-alcoholic version of a drink is that it should have a level of complexity and balance to rival the alcoholic version.
Orange Juice (non pulp)
Sparkling water -not sweet ( I like Perrier for complexity)
Sparkling Apple Cider
In a champagne flute
add 2/5 orange juice
Add 2/5 Sparkling Apple cider
Add 1/5 Perrier
Garnish with a raspberry
