I have been pretty absent on here for a couple months -- a much needed break. In the meantime, I've focused on my sobriety, my mental & physical health, my job and my family. You time is never wasted.

Wow! I have been pretty absent on here with all that my son's going thru, the start of camping season & a new dig into even healthier living with daily workouts & extreme attention to what I put in & on my body -- & then I have been incredibly sick for the last week. I've missed work, I've slept like 14 hours a day & hardly consumed more than 1200 calories a day... feed a cold, starve a fever for reals! But in my absence, I stumbled upon the book "The Artist's Way" & it has been mind blowing. It's true, babes, I came back in October of last year, high hopes and motivated, only to be quickly sidelined by responsibility & then, BAM, my creativity became blocked. It's true. I am slowly making my way through the book and what I've learned is: I didn't nurture my creative child over the last 5.5 years. I didn't play enough. I didn't take enough breaks. I literally burned out. Then, I took a job that was awful, very damaging to my psyche & I didn't take the time to heal from that ptsd-like aftermath. I just moved back into creating & it quickly back fired. I want to heal and create for the right reasons, not simply for production or financial gain. My goal over the summer is to take this all one step at a time. You will probably see more "lifestyle personal update" posts than jewelry for sale. Hope you don't mind. I don't think you will because I know in my heart that you love me* 100x more than you love my creations. You babes are the real deal. I can't thank you enough. I hope this post finds you well & that you grab life by the (balls, horns, shoulders, teeth) & squeeze every last drop of joy out of them. We deserve goodness. We deserve silly, fun, beautiful lives we're proud of. Xoxo, Jenna

Jewelry & Repurposed Paper: A Love Story

With more than ten years of experience as a photographer, I transitioned to found art and jewelry design after getting some time off work for knee surgery at the beginning of 2020. My love of earrings and creative variety has led me to repurpose paper materials in an unconventional way. As an artist with a background in photography, I want to inspire others to see the world and its beauty from diverse perspectives. Dusty boxes of old greeting cards can find new life in the present. Even junk mail can be made into something surprisingly beautiful. Each of my featherlight pieces showcases recycling and upcycling at its finest and is, most definitely, one of a kind. It is this unique quality that sets The Olive Tale apart from the mass-produced jewelry market and gives each piece a special distinction. The same artistic story is never told twice. I'm encouraged that you have chosen my piece to adorn your life, knowing that its story will continue through you.
