Wilmore Elementary School The mission of Wilmore Elementary School is to create a safe, personalized learning environment that

In response to the growing concern of the complex problems faced by our society today (e.g. poverty, family restructuring, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, domestic violence, etc.) and the desire to remove barriers to educational success, the Kentucky General Assembly created the Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSCS). FRYSCS became an integral part of the Kentucky Education Reform

Act (KERA) of 1990. This legislation created a partnership between the Kentucky Department of Education and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Now, more than 20 years since inception, the Kentucky Family Resource and Youth Services Centers are recognized as the nation’s largest school-based family support initiative. Family Resource and Youth Services Centers are designed to address the needs of children and their families by developing partnerships with school, family and the community in order to support that all public school students reach proficiency.

✨❄️ Winter Wonderland Magic ❄️✨

What a truly magical evening at our Winter Wonderland! Our 3rd graders shined in their “Incredible Reindeer” showcase, and our talented Music Makers filled the night with a beautiful concert that warmed every heart. 🎶🦌🎤🎅🏼

A huge thank you to our amazing special area team for investing in our Bear Cubs and helping them grow into confident, joyful performers—you make such a difference! 🐻💛💚

The fun continued with cookies, crafts, coloring, and a scavenger hunt that helped our Bear Cubs learn about holidays celebrated around the world. Guests also enjoyed voting for their favorite gingerbread creations, which added even more excitement to the night! 🍪🏠🎨🌍

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make Winter Wonderland such a memorable and magical event. We are so grateful for our wonderful school community! ❄️✨

🍩☕ Donuts with Dudes – A Morning Well Spent! ☕🍩

Today our Faith in Action Club hosted a special Donuts with Dudes event, giving our Bear Cubs boys the chance to invite a guest and start the day with purpose and fun — all before the bell rang!

Faith in Action meets once a week before school, where Mr. Winter, Mr. Goggin, and Mr. Villalobos mentor our young men in living out acts of service, using words of affirmation, and holding high standards for themselves and their friends. This morning, those lessons came to life with special guests through a meaningful devotion and a high-energy Rock, Paper, Scissors competition that brought plenty of smiles and laughter.

A huge thank you to our partners at Wilmore Free Methodist for providing coffee and donuts, and to all the guests and families who adjusted their morning routines to invest in our Bear Cubs boys. Your presence and support make a lasting impact!

🐻💚💛

Hello WES Families and Staff,

Mother Nature—with her beautiful sunshine—had different plans for our sledding adventure today. Unfortunately, the warm weather has left us with more mud than snow, and mud sledding is definitely not on our bingo card this year!

We will reschedule our sledding fun the next time we have plenty of snow on the WES hill. In the meantime, we hope you’re still able to enjoy some outdoor play in the shaded areas near your home, as the temperature is perfect for getting outside.

Thank you for your understanding, and we’re sorry for the last-minute change. We look forward to hitting the hill together as soon as winter cooperates! Please help us spread the word!

Wilmore families, you’re invited to join us this evening for a fun night of fellowship, sledding, hot chocolate, and cookies at Wilmore Elementary at 6 PM!

Please bring your sledding gear—sleds, tubes, and more—and feel free to bring extras to share with other families. If you don’t have sledding gear, please still come! We’ll have a few additional sleds available, and we’ll be generous in our fellowship so everyone can join in on the fun.

❄️☃️Bundle up and we hope to see you there! ⛄❄️

Due to the winter weather advisory and the forecasted snow, Friday, December 12, will be a snow day in Jessamine County.
We have one day built into our calendar that we can use without it being NTI or requiring a make up day. That will be tomorrow.

There will be no child care available at NES tomorrow, so we wanted to get the message out as soon as possible.
We hope to see everyone on Monday.

11/12/2025

Thursday, December 11, will be NTI Day 3 for JCS. Today was unexpected, however, our road crews and bus drivers coming in to work have reported icy and unsafe conditions in various parts of the county. We have waited as long as possible to make a decision in hope of improvement, but safety is our number one priority. We appreciate your understanding as we make these difficult decisions.
*Childcare will be available at 9:00 for those who are registered.
