I really enjoyed watching Thayne getting up close and personal with his grand niece Phoebe … eight weeks old. He was a real pro with her…after all, he has 2 dsughters of his own so that muscle memory kicked right back in!

BREAKING: Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were fatally shot and a second lawmaker and his spouse were injured in separate "politically motivated" shootings at their homes in eastern Minnesota, officials said.

The suspect is still at large and on foot, authorities said.

Gov. Tim Walz said the attack appears to be "targeted political violence."

State Sen. John Hoffman of Champlin and his wife, Yvette, were injured. The conditions of the Hoffmans was not immediately available. Both lawmakers were members of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party.

Thayne and I have been asked to sit on a panel of judges for open mike at Trees Lounge tonite and next week at Port Allen Sunset Bar and Grill. Part of the "Hawaii Songwriting Festival" I am not a huge fan of judging anyone's art - everyone who puts their art out there to share with the world is a winner already! Winner of the "contest" gets free attendance to the upcoming "Hawaii Songwriting Festival" formerly the Kauai Music Festival - now being held on the Big Island of Hawaii! Thanks for coming out and supporting all of our local songwriters - each and everyone a winner in my book!
