(Index, WA) Sunday morning. Drizzle falling, low clouds over snow-capped peaks—a young bald eagle soared right past me. A moment later, the BNSF glides over the river bridge. North Fork of the Skykomish River.

Wonderful to spend time with the Trumpeter Swans at Shadow Lake in Snohomish Saturday morning. The swans spend the night in the shallows at the far end of the lake. Throughout the morning hours, they fly away in small groups to spend the day in nearby farm fields.

Stopped by the Snohomish River Boat Launch this afternoon. Not a big surprise to see the the downed trees and related debris from last month’s flooding. Still, it’s interesting to see it all collected several feet above the currrent water level. This has been an enjoyable stop for photography in recent years.

(Snohomish, WA) Driving west on Marsh Rd from SR 9 at 5:15 tonight. In the final minute, you can clearly see that parts of some farm fields are still under water due to mid-December’s flooding.
