Barefoot Rose At the end of the day one should smell like sand and fresh air.

And, subsequently, I have moved to the seaside and closed my business.

Yes Ma'am....it isn't hard at all to see why all these chemicals are causing havoc with our environment and health. Been saying this for years. PLEASE stop using this crap and just choose soap and water.

Say goodbye to those 'antibacterial' soaps. The FDA says they do little or nothing to make soap work better.

Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see.

Just had to show off my new granite mortar and pestle. I love it! The dried Echinacea flowers I broke down came from my garden. Roots are harder to come by, so I order those. This is an Echinacea tincture for cold and flu season. Flowers+roots+vodka+six weeks in the pantry=natural and quicker cold relief. Oh and the jar!! It came from France...their canning brand. Antiquing with Mycah paid off in four of these little treasures.

Well who knew??? For all my local friends, herbal tip of the day... Our beautiful and plentiful Loblolly Pine needles are highly useful: I'll be brewing up a cup of tea daily!!

According to the National Institute Of Health, pine needles include antioxidants that reduce free radicals that are harmful to humans and cause disease.
Pine needle tea is high in vitamins A and C. In fact the fresh green pine needles have five times the amount of vitamin C found in one lemon.
Throughout the centuries, people have literally survived on pine-needle tea as well as cured themselves of scurvy by drinking a tea of both the needles and inner bark of the pine tee.
Pine needles contain volatile oils that help loosen congestion. As an extra bonus, they’re also a good source of vitamin C, which is essential for the immune system.
The amount of vitamin C and antioxidants help to aid in the body’s ability to get over a cold faster, which is similar to that of an immune defense aid such as Zicam and airborne.
Pine needle tea brings you clarity and mental clearness when you drink it.
The tea has many benefits; cleans the veins, increases your strength and vitality and helps in reversing or slowing the aging process.

I am SO in love with my Herbal Studies course!! So much good stuff involved. Infusing oils with wonder-working herbs and botanicals makes that simply wonderful olive oil ten times better. I started a fresh jar of Calendula and olive oil today.

Here's a little rundown on the specifics of this great plant: Calendula officinalis has been used for centuries for wounds and skin irritations. Calendula has properties that make it useful for minor wounds, cuts, scrapes, chapped or chafed skin, bruises, burns, bee stings, rashes, and other minor irritations and infections of the skin. This versatile botanical can be incorporated into baths, creams, compresses, washes, salves, ointments, massage oils, baths, facial steams, tinctures, and teas. It is also gentle enough to use for babies, children, or animals. Internally, gargling with Calendula infused water may ease a sore throat, sores in the mouth, and inflammations in the mouth and throat.
