What an amazing day on the golf course! 🏌🏽‍♀️⛳️

Thrilled to share that I clinched the *Women’s Closest to the Pin* and scored a *birdie*, but the true victory was being part of the exceptional team that secured the #1 Women’s Team title in the tournament! 🏆

It was a blend of teamwork, leadership, skills, and pure enjoyment — and the incredible ladies of the Rho Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ensured we had a great day!! 💕💚

Gratitude fills me for the camaraderie, the collaborative spirit, and the mutual passion for the sport.

Proximity Is Power! This has been my mantra for many years and part of my success factor. If you follow me, you know that I share Dr. Lisa’s Rubies on how to use this technique.

I’ve learned over the years that success doesn’t just come from what you know—it often comes from who and where you are.

Being close to growth: the people, the opportunities, the mentors—it’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.

When you put yourself in proximity to power (wisdom, skill, courage), you begin to absorb it, learn from it, and become it.

So today I encourage you to choose to show up closer: closer to the people pushing you, closer to the conversations that stretch you, closer to what’s bigger than you.

What an enriching evening in Birmingham, Michigan at Zana! I had the privilege of attending the Food & Farm: A Private Immersive Experience, hosted by Planted Detroit and supported by Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities
and UBS.

The event’s focus was on addressing critical issues of child hunger and food scarcity, advocating for farming initiatives that benefit schools and communities across Michigan.

Distinguished speakers from the University of Michigan and Groundwork shared valuable insights during the immersive session. Planted Detroit’s impactful presentation, accompanied by three interactive food stations, highlighted cutting-edge farming techniques emphasizing biosecurity and controlled environmental agriculture.

One particularly thought-provoking station featured the “Reverse Lunch Tray” activity, showcasing how even a small contribution like a dime can significantly improve a school’s nutrition program, directly impacting the well-being of children.

Despite potential challenges in government funding affecting crucial programs like 10 Cents a Meal for Michigan’s Kids and Farms, which support local food systems and enrich children’s educational experiences, actionable ways to show support were discussed.

A special thank you to Jennifer Winstel for the invitation and for involving me in this meaningful event. I am motivated to contribute to this important cause and to further this essential work.
