It was a bit of a drizzly early morning on Saturday, May 30, but that did not stop nearly 100 racers and walkers who braved the elements at the Fourth Annual Race for Ace.

Jamie and Robin Hackert, organizers of Race for Ace, hold the giant check for Serenity Haven, the mission and motivation for Race for Ace. After mail-in donations were totaled, it was determined this year’s event raised over $29,000 for the cause. It was a bit of a drizzly early morning on Saturda...

Tomorrow, June 3, 2026, the Disaster Task Force will be conducting a large-scale Active Threat Full-Scale Exercise in the Sully and Co-Line Manufacturing area. As part of the exercise, you may notice a significant number of law enforcement, fire, EMS, emergency management personnel, and emergency vehicles throughout the area.

You may also see items associated with the exercise, including training props, simulated patients, and other exercise materials. These items are part of the planned training and have been clearly marked as exercise props.

This training brings together responders from five counties to practice coordinated response to a complex emergency. Exercises like this help ensure our agencies are prepared to work together when real emergencies happen.

If you see a large emergency response presence in the area tomorrow, please know it is only a training exercise.

Thank you to Co-Line Manufacturing and all of our participating agencies for helping make this important training possible.

A beautiful May 8 Friday afternoon was made even brighter when Lynnville-Sully K-5 students learned their efforts – with generous help from family, friends, and area businesses – raised just over $20,000 for the annual Lynnville-Sully Community Education Foundation Walkathon.

Teri Bowlin, preK-5 principal, is splashed with colorful confetti by Abram Shipley and Kreighton Vos. Mrs. Bowlin offered to be doused in confetti and glitter as an incentive for students to raise $20,000. A beautiful May 8 Friday afternoon was made even brighter when Lynnville-Sully K-5 students le...
