Friday 8/15/2025 morning tropical update: is still dealing with some dry air and shear, but I expect it to become a hurricane tonight or tomorrow. From there, it will rapidly intensify this weekend. The track remains about the same between the U.S. and Bermuda. The expected distance offshore is still uncertain, but it is highly certain to be offshore right now. No matter what, there is going to be some rough surf, rip currents, beach erosion, and coastal flooding from the higher-than-normal tides. So it is wise to be prepared for those coastal impacts while also monitoring the progress of the storm over the weekend closely along the entire coast.
