🤯 7 day forecast

The latest 7-day precipitation forecast highlights two parts of the Nation expecting periods of heavy rain over the next week, the Pacific Northwest and south-central United States. 🌧

For the Northwest, an Atmospheric River is forecast to bring heavy rain, gusty winds, and high elevation snow beginning on Friday. Onshore flow and additional precipitation is expected through the weekend and into next week as the wet weather pattern persists.

For the south-central U.S., a slow moving system entering the region Thursday night could lead to numerous clusters of thunderstorms capable of producing excessive rainfall throughout the southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley between Friday and Sunday.

Rain may be coming

Some folks call that first big rain in the midst of a late-summer/fall drought a "billion dollar rain," because it could save a winter wheat crop on the brink of disaster. We really need this one to come through! https://ticker.mesonet.org/
