..A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northwestern Caddo, south central Blaine and west central Canadian Counties through 745 PM CDT...

At 657 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Bridgeport, moving northwest at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include... Hinton, Geary, and Bridgeport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor NOAA Weather Radio, local radio stations or available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

You’re invited to the Ribbon Cutting for Elk City Fire & EMS new department

You're Invited

The Elk City Fire Department is pleased to invite the community to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new fire station on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Location: 403 W. 5th Street

This event marks an important milestone for our department and our community. Representatives from the Elk City Police Department will also be on hand to discuss the recent renovations to their facility.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests will have the opportunity to tour both the new fire station and the renovated police department.

Coffee and refreshments will be available.

We encourage all community members, local businesses, elected officials, and visitors to join us as we celebrate these investments in public safety and the future of Elk City.
